Delivering a tasty Smart Mass Sampling campaign for Bakers Dog Food’s target audience and their four-legged friends at a key sales period – Christmas.

Strategy

Channelling our expertise in sampling, we collaborated with Amazon using its data and eCommerce capabilities to devise a highly targeted audience-first sampling solution. By targeting our audience with perfectly timed online ads, we could ensure we sent samples to those interested in the product and actually wanted to try it.

To do this, we:

• Delivered precision audience targeting through Amazon’s first-party data, including entertainment fans, grocery shoppers, and competitor customers.

• Retargeted sampling customers with eCommerce Display ads to drive conversion to purchase after trial.

Activation

Managing the campaign from end-to-end, over 12 days, we smashed out a logistical masterpiece with:

• Building a sampling request portal from scratch

• Delivery of sample boxes containing a 1.2kg bag of Bakers Adult Dog Food Beef & Vegetable, to 9,951 households

• Reserve sample boxes in case of missing or damaged samples for replacement
