Simple is a familiar face in the UK skincare market. However, the brand was finding difficulty in capturing new audiences and staying ahead in its category due to an influx of new, revolutionary brands and skincare products.
Our challenge was to find a way to educate members of the public about the key benefits of the Simple moisturiser and the efficacy of the brand, grabbing customers' attention through our activation to get them to reappraise Simple as a hero skincare brand.
Our solution was to deliver an experiential marketing pop-up where consumers could immerse themselves in the brand, discover the products, and learn about the benefits through in-person trial and experimentation.
We’d land in high-traffic shopping centres to capture the attention of as many people as possible. Our plan was to incorporate digital integrations and social media elements to broadcast the experience across the shopping centres to intrigue shoppers to discover the activation. We’d set up close to Boots so that our Brand Ambassadors could drive consumers in-store to make purchases of the range.
Our Simple experiential took centre stage outside Boots stores in three major shopping centres: Westfield White City, Leeds Trinity and Manchester Trafford Centre. The sleek pop-up greeted passersby with expert Brand Ambassadors, free samples and educational activities to promote the efficacy of the products.
Consumers tested their skin’s hydration levels before and after using Simple’s Repairing Rich Cream to experience the proven results of the moisturiser. Trained beauticians educated them about the brand and science behind the products, encouraging sales with a gift with purchase voucher to get a branded cup.
Some attendees let us film their experience, which we then broadcast across the shopping centres on digital screens and featured on social media content. Trusted beauty influencers visited the activation, creating excitement and giving consumers an experience to remember.
All of this helped underline that Simple is a hero brand for any skincare needs.
